Valmiki is a Director (Corporate) of RCLT Law Corporation.

Valmiki’s practice encompasses venture capital investments, M&A, restructuring, corporate, commercial and employment matters. He has advised foreign & local corporations, venture capital funds, investors, start-ups and individuals on matters relating to business establishment, shareholder arrangements, early & mature stage fundraising, financing, restructuring, employment, regulation & compliance, M&A and exits.

Valmiki’s experience extends internationally through cross-border transactions, restructuring and venture capital investments involving investors and assets in Australia, China, Europe, India, Japan, the Middle East, South America, Southeast Asia and the United States. He has collaborated with regional and international counsel to meet his clients’ global needs.

Prior to joining RCLT Law Corporation, Valmiki was a partner in the corporate department at a leading law firm. He was the firm’s Co-Head of the Venture Tech & Emerging Growth Companies practice which achieved a Band 1 Ranking from Chambers Asia Pacific and a Tier 1 Ranking from The Legal 500 and was ranked as an “Up and Coming” Individual in successive years by Chambers Asia Pacific. He also served as a legal consultant in a multi-national company, subsidiary of a statutory board and start-up, supporting business functions on corporate, commercial, employment, fundraising, restructuring, regulatory, compliance and procurement matters in the APAC region.

Valmiki has also been involved in the start-up ecosystem as a panelist, speaker, judge and mentor at various events and conferences including Innovfest Unbound, Global Legal Hackathon, Rakuten Accelerator Programme and Vertex Technopreneur Circle.

  • Acted for Vertex Ventures, the venture capital arm of Temasek Holdings, in its early-stage investments in start-ups including ReN3, Speedoc, IVF Access, Instarem, Paktor, Patsnap, Spacemob, Turnkey Lender, Get, Hertzwell and Clearbridge Biomedics. 
  • Acted for SPUN Global in its US$1.8 million seed funding round led by Genesia Ventures, with participation from Antler and other investors, supporting SPUN’s expansion of AI-enabled visa infrastructure across Southeast Asia.
  • Acted for Nium, a global enterprise payments platform, in its Series B to D fundraising rounds amounting to over US$250 million by, inter alia, Riverwood Capital, Temasek Holdings, GIC, Visa, Vertex Ventures, Rocket Capital, GSR Ventures, Atinum Investment and Global Founders Capital.
  • Acted for Reebonz, an online luxury marketplace and platform, in its Series D fundraising round of US$50 million by, inter alia, MediaCorp and in a SPAC transaction and subsequently listing on NASDAQ.
  • Acted for Property Guru, Southeast Asia’s leading property website, in its Series C fundraising round of US$44 million by ImmobilienScout24.
  • Acted for Patsnap, a global patent search and analysis platform, in its Series B round of US$12 million by Summit Partners. 
  • Acted for UnoAsia, the parent of UNO Digital Bank in the Philippines in its pre-Series A fundraising round of US$11 million by Creador, a Malaysian private equity firm.
  • Acted for Certis, an advanced integrated security services organisation, in its joint venture with Lendlease, an Australian Property firm, to redevelop Certis Cisco Centre.
  • Acted for Little Farms Group in its merger with Farm Fresh Foods and Farm ‘n Pantry to create the leading gourmet organic grocer in Singapore. 
  • Acted for shareholders of Qanvast, a home renovation platform, in a majority stake acquisition by Livspace, a Singapore-based home interior and renovation platform.
  • Acted for Energy Market Authority in its sale of Energy Market Company to a subsidiary of the Singapore Exchange.
  • Acted for Rockwell Collins Inc, a provider of avionics and information technology systems and services, in its purchase of Pacific Avionics, a company specializing in technologies used for wireless information distribution, including inflight entertainment and connectivity.
  • Acted for an international shipping group in its cross-border restructuring exercise involving assets in Singapore, Indonesia and Germany.
  • Acted for a South American group in its cross-border restructuring exercise involving assets in Chile, the Middle East, Singapore and the United States.
